BDA does not support special fixpack support for DB2. If DB2 software have some bugs/vulnerability's in product, IBM used to release special fixpack on top of the existing fixpack to resolve bugs/vulnerability's . Right now BDA tool does not support these special build fixpacks. It would be great if BMC can take this as a priority and provide the support for this as applying special build fixpacks on several servers is again involves manual work and time consuming. Below is detail situations that BDA does not support special builds.

Sometimes we used to get a special build fix packs from IBM for the security issues/to resolve bug issues on top of the existing fixpack. It seems with the present logic BDA cannot handle these special builds .

Say for example IBM initially releases DB2 10.1 FP4 which have the following information from db2ls

Install Path Level   Fix Pack   Special Install Number Install Date Installer UID

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

/opt/IBM/db2/V10.1 10.1.0.4 4 Wed Jun 10 07:39:30 2015 EDT             0

If this FP4 have some bugs/issues we usually get special fixpack on top of the above FP4 looks like below.

Install Path Level   Fix Pack   Special Install Number Install Date Installer UID

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

/opt/IBM/db2/V10.1 10.1.0.4 4 2    Mon Apr  6 06:27:48 2015 EDT             0

When we are trying to install this special fixpack BDA excluding this server as " patch [fixpack 4] already applied to object ".
