So you have a docs.bmc Wiki topic with a relatively long topic title, but you want to quickly shorten it and share it with someone?

It's simple. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the topic whose link you want to shorten and share.
  2. Press the K key on your keyboard to open the Link to this page dialog box.
  3. The cursor already points to and pre-selects the Tiny Link for your topic. Press Ctrl+C to copy it.
  4. Close the dialog.
  5. Share the link.

Voila!

For example, consider the following topic, which, as you can see, has a looong topic title:

https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/bcmco95/Looking+up+the+scenario+ID+for+VDS+calls+in+the+Capacity-Aware+Placement+Advic…

But, the Tiny Link for the same topic is:

https://docs.bmc.com/docs/x/1woCF

Which one is better? You be the judge.

Cheers!

  1. View topic in full-screen mode: Press the F key on your keyboard (toggle).
  2. Hide the navigation-pane on the left: Press the [ key on your keyboard (toggle).
