    COMPONENT:

    APPLIES TO:

    Remedy Midtier, any version.

    QUESTION:

     Is there a way to remove arsys from the midtier URL?

    ANSWER:

    If   /arsys has to be removed from the midtier URL.

    1. Stop tomcat
    2. Rename Tomcat/webapps/ROOT folder to Tomcat/webapps/PREVIOUSLY_ROOT
    3. Rename your file Tomcat/Conf/catalina/localhost/arsys.xml to arsys.xml.off
    4. on your Tomcat/conf/server.xml file find the tag <host>
    and add the context
          <Host name="localhost"  appBase="webapps" unpackWARs="true" autoDeploy="true">
        <Context path="" docBase="C:\midtierTools\deployed\91"> <!-- this is the path where midtier is located-->
        <WatchedResource>WEB-INF/web.xml</WatchedResource>
    </Context>
          </Host>
    Notice that docbase should point to your midtier installation folder, in this example "C:\midtierTools\deployed\91"

    5. Restart tomcat and midtier should be accessible from  http://localhost:port/

    Additional Note:
    If there's no need to completely remove the /arsys from the URL but you don't want your users to type it you can follow this article. https://communities.bmc.com/docs/DOC-99928 with this you can just type http://midtierserver:8080 and tomcat will add the /arsys.

    If you don't want port 8080 in the URL you can follow this article https://communities.bmc.com/docs/DOC-92507
