    QUESTION:

    Looking for a way to prevent Newday from deleting jobs off the AJF who's Maxwait has been exceeded and after Control-M  has been down for several days, starting it up will cause Newday to start.

    ANSWER:

    You can use the DAFRMIN DD statement to utilize the IGNORE member of the CTM..PARM library and code the Ignore statements as follows.

    IGNORE MEMBER *
    IGNORE JOBNAME * STATUS WAITSCHED

    Make sure the DAFRMIN DD statement is not commented out, which is done in CTMTDAY by default and set to Dummy.

    Default settings:
    //*------------------------------------------------*
    //DAFRMIN  DD DUMMY
    //*DAFRMIN DD DISP=SHR,DSN=&OLPREFM..PARM(IGNORE)
    //*------------------------------------------------*

    Change to the following:
    //*------------------------------------------------*
    //*DAFRMIN  DD DUMMY
    //DAFRMIN DD DISP=SHR,DSN=&OLPREFM..PARM(IGNORE)
    //*------------------------------------------------*
