PATROL Configuration Manager
The Locate Latest Backup menu option in PATROL Configuration Manager does not return any backup file although several backup files exist in the PCM backup directory.
The large size of the rules in the configuration file was causing Java to hold the configuration in memory while processing the fetch configuration.
Some rules in the configuration files have large values, for example, large number of variables, multiple lines, long variable length. This was causing Java to hold the configuration in memory while processing the fetch configuration and hence the file was not getting found.
To allow Java to hold this large data add the following configuration variable in the startup command of PCM (PCM.cmd):
java -DCS_INI="D:\BMC Software\pconfmgr\ini\PCM.ini" -Xmx256m -Xss8m -jar "D:\BMC Software\pconfmgr\PCM.jar"
This variable is used to set the stack size used by the Java thread to store the data during processing.
