    APPLIES TO:

Real User Cloud Probe, all versions. Real User Collector - Virtual Edition, all versions. TS-4200 all versions.

    PROBLEM:

How can the Real User Cloud Probe capture VLAN tagged traffic?

    SOLUTION:

The Real User Cloud Probe will capture all traffic, whether or not it is VLAN tagged. There is no need to configure the Cloud Probe.

If the Cloud Probe is installed in a virtual machine, the virtual machine administrator must configure the virtual network interface to send the correct VLAN traffic the customer wants to monitor.
If the Cloud Probe is receiving network traffic from another device such as a tap, a switch span port or a load balancer mirror pool, the device's administrator must configure it to send the correct VLAN traffic.

Incorrect configuration of the virtual network interface or device could result in Cloud Probe not capturing the expected network traffic.
