    DELTA IMS DB/DC

    PROBLEM:

BMC is alerting users to a problem in the following products for the IBM IMS environments:

      -DELTA IMS for DBCTL

      -DELTA IMS DB/DC

      -DELTA IMS VIRTUAL TERMINAL

       Issue

An IMS SYS 800-04 abend may occur when executing an ADD DB AUTO=Y (reload sensitive ACBs)

or RELOAD DB AUTO=Y (reload sensitive ACBs) when an extremely large PSB is reloaded.

If the PSB size of the PSB being reloaded exceeds the blocksize

of the ACBLIB dataset, and the LRECL size of the ACBLIB dataset

is greater than 0 (zero), then an IMS SYS 800-04 abend

       is may occur.

This abend problem affects DELTA IMS version 6.6.01. and 6.7.00.

The following items are examples of the IMS SYS 800-04

abend registers at the time of abend:

DFS629I IMS CTL TCB ABEND - SYS 800

       DFS629I PSW AT ERROR = 070C2000 818DD220

       DFS629I MODID = UNKNOWN           EPA = UNKNOWN

The following table provides information about the PTF that resolves this issue:

      Version 6.6.01 - PTF BPQ9902 - Defect QM001849215 – Solution SLN000015180583 - Knowledge Article KA414589
    Version 6.7.00 - PTF BPQ9903 - Defect QM001849216 - Solution SLN000015180585  - Knowledge Article KA414589

You must restart IMS (any type of restart) to make the PTF change effective.

Until you apply the correcting PTF, you can avoid the abend by

      1) Execute ADD DB AUTO=N (do not reload sensitive ACBs) or

RELOAD DB AUTO=N (do not reload sensitive ACBs).

      2) Manually issue a DELTA IMS reload for each ACB

      referencing the DB.
