    PROBLEM:

Regarding the configuration of preference in homepage

Details: In the Top page after logging, we would like to have 'SHR:LandingConsole' for admin user, and 'SRS:ServiceRequestConsole' for normal users.
Currently, we modified 'SRS:ServiceRequestConsole' to 'Default Home Form' in ServerInfomation, and for administrator, modified home page as SHR:LandingConsole manually toward preference.
However, for new added user's preference, 'SHR:LandingConsole' would be set.
For added user, we want 'SRS:ServiceRequestConsole' as default homepage.

Can you tell us the way to do that?

You will need to specify the default home page for a server by setting the Default Home Page option in the Configuration tab of the Server Information form. If a mid tier serves more than one AR System server, you must also configure the mid tier to use a specific server as the home page server.

If you defined a home page server in user preferences, the mid tier uses this setting to search for a home page form. If no user preference is defined, the mid tier checks the home page server setting in the Configuration Tool.

This means that you will need to configure the "SRS:ServiceRequestConsole" as default home page for a server by setting the Default Home Page option in the Configuration tab of the Server Information form and you will need to configure the mid tier to use a this specific server as the home page server.

You can refer the below points in " BMC Remedy Action Request System 7.6.04 Form and Application Objects Guide" for more details.
    -- "Using a home page" on page# 434.
-- "Configuring home page preferences" on page# 457.

Q1>>If several AR server exist (server group setting), would Default Home Page option be invalid if not modifying MidTier`s Home Page Server setting?
    Answer:
If server group exist, then the name of load balancer / server group need to be configured in MidTier's configuration and Default home page should be configured to all the servers in the server group.

Q2>> Is it ok to enter server group name to `server name` for Home Page Server setting? If having two servers, do I need to modify one of them?
    Answer:
Server group name need to be updated in the home page server setting and need to modify both the servers.

Q3>> If modifying one of them, and if modified server went down, would user be not able to log in?
    Answer:
Home page should be configured on all the servers in the server group.
