CLM: Error - "javax.xml.ws.soap.SOAPFaultException: Java heap space" when making callout to Atrium Orchestrator (AO)

    PROBLEM:

     

    The following error is seen in %Platform_Manager%/logs/csm.log during the provisioning of a new VM when an AO-type Callout to the BMC Atrium Orchestrator (AO) server is made:

    CAUSE:

    Lower heap size on the Atrium Orchestrator (AO) server and the Platform Manager machine.


    SOLUTION:

    Follow this documentation for performance tuning guideline for all BMC Cloud Lifecycle components.

    Modify heap size in BMC Atrium Orchestrator CDP.lax file stored in \BMC Sofwtare\AO-Platform\CDP\bin (windows) and server.sh for Linux platform.

    For the Platform Manager:
    Adjust "wrapper.java.maxmemory" in the %Platform_Manager%/wrapper.conf file

    These values requires x64 Java version, which can handle more than 1536 Mb of System Memory.

      

    Restart BMC Atrium Orchestrator and Platform Manager processes for the changes to take affect.
