    PROBLEM:

     

     Symptom

      
        When attempting to update an alert from the Control-M Business Process Integration Suite (BPI), the message "Failed to establish connection with server - no server registered under this hostname" is returned.

    SOLUTION:

     Cause

      
        Defect CAR00052517 has been opened to address this problem. 
      
        
      
      Solution 
      
        1- backup then edit the file [Control-M API]/conf/8.0.00/emApiRequestsDetails.xml 
      
        2 - locate the section "<name>request_change_alert_status</name>" and change: 
      
           <component>GAS</component> 
      
          to  
      
           <component>GSR</component> 
      
        3 - restart the Control-M API ( stop_ctmwsapi / start_ctmwsapi )
