This Knowledge Article deals with generic troubleshooting for RunNow, Verify or Test Connection (at Data exchange level).

    1.    General Troubleshooting

1.1         Make sure that AIE installation was successful and aiexfer.exe (AIE workflow utility has been copied into AR installation dir)

    1.2         Before using these features,

1.2.1     Make sure that AIE instance (which is executing the current Data exchange) is up and running.

1.2.2     Make sure that AIE instance is listening on particular port which you configured at AIE instance level. This can be  verified by looking into the following dbg logs  ---- <AIE install DIR>/debug/<AIE instance>_EventListener.dbg file.

    For Example:

<TID: 001> <INFO  > Instance listening on port[3615] for Run Now, Verify and Immediate Even-driven request...

<TID: 001> <INFO  > Wakeup port opened to receive event driven requests.

<TID: 001> <INFO  > Event wakeup port open and ready to receive a request.

<TID: 001> <INFO  > Request received on wakeup port. Notifying event manager to service the request.

<TID: 001> <INFO  > Waiting for wakeup call for immediate requests.

    2.    Two Specific instance of errors encountered and troubleshooting is given here.

2.1         At the AR User, error window is displayed with following message

    AR System User - Error

ARERR [39] Filter/escalation set field process timed out before

    Completion

Set fields active link running a process failed (ARERR 1603)

    OK

This error occurs when AIE workflow utility aiexfer.exe is taking time to execute the request.

To resolve this issue, Please increase the process Timeout setting at the AR server level (AR System Administration Console -> General -> Server Information -> Timeouts). The default is 5 seconds.

2.2 At the AR User, error window is displayed with following message

    AR System User - Error

ARERR [341] Cannot run the requested process

Set field active link running a process failed [ARERR 1603]

The preceding message occurred during the execution of active link

    OK

To resolve this error please verify the aiexfer.exe is present into AR installation Directory. If not then please verify the installation was successful or not.
