    APPLIES TO:

    All CONTROL-D environments

    PROBLEM:

    How to suppress CONTROL-D banners?

    CAUSE:

Mainly this question occurs on a newly installed environment, but it might be also a new policy to suppress existing banners.

    SOLUTION:

Here are different ways to suppress banners:

    1.  Using NOBANNER in the CATEGORY field of the print mission.  This suppresses all banners.
NOTE: If there is already a value in CATEGORY, you can add another one separated by a comma.
    Sample: CATEGORY SEQL-FILE,NOBANNER

    2.  Using the RECIPIENT entry in the recipient tree to suppress INDEX, USER, and REPORT banners.

    3.  Renaming the corresponding member in the IOA BANNERS library.  For example, if you don't want to print report banners for printers, rename members $$REPSTA and $$REPEND in the IOA BANNERS library.

    NOTE:
Item 3 is documented in the manual:
    Control-D Getting Started Guide
    Chapter 6 Preparing for Production
    Tailoring the Banners
    .../...
Banners are optional and do not have to be printed. To delete a banner, simply rename the member for the specific banner type.

For example, to delete the start of report banner and end of report banner, rename the following two members $$REPSTA and $$REPEND in the BANNERS library.
    .../...

    4.  Setting the GINDEX, INDEX, EINDEX, and GEINDEX parameters to OFF, OFF, NO, NO, respectively in the banner exits (CTDX003 and CTDX014).
