Finding outgoing emails not processing in server group configuration - Email Service has been suspended

    PROBLEM:

     

    Outgoing mails not processing.  System shows sent message status in the AR email message form
     

      

    check emaild.sh log, see below...

    Email Service has been suspended.
    Application has started Version:  7.1.00 Patch 006 200811280530
    Using JRE: 1.5.0_12
    thread is still alive

      

    -------------------------------------

      

    Following is troubleshooting skills
    1.Restart the application server
    2.Checked email engine: working ok
    3.Telnet to mailserver using port number: working ok.


    Two AR servers in the server group


     

      

    BMC Remedy AR System Server (version 7.1.00) DR: AR System; Server: Linux Red Hat ES 5.0; Database: Oracle 10g;

     


    SOLUTION:

     

    Legacy ID:KA313415

      
      Email engine was installed on the Server A, but not installed on the Server B yet server B was attempting to take over email operations. 
      
      suggest to do following points to solve this. 
      
        
      
       
    1. Removed Server B records in the Email Engine Operation Rank form  
    2.  
    3. Set email engine operations on Server A
    4.  
    5. Restart arserver services of both the servers
