DSO (arservdsd) will not startup in server group configuration. Encounter error 'Distrib : The server being accessed is not licensed for the Distributed Server Option (ARDSERR 3106)'

    PROBLEM:

     

    Our primary issue is that DSO will not start even though we have a non-expiring license key.
    Distrib : The server being accessed is not licensed for the Distributed Server Option (ARDSERR 3106)

      

    Setting the Server-Name to the Load Balancer hostname fails but setting it to hostname of the local remedy server it works.

      

    BMC Remedy AR System Server (version 7.0.01) DR: AR System Server for Unix; Server: Solaris 10 / SunOS 5.10; Database: Sybase 12.5.x;

     


    SOLUTION:

     

    Legacy ID:KA306216

      

    1.  Set the following in the ar.conf file:

      

    DSO-Source-Server: Local_Remedy_Server_Hostname)

      

    Server-Name: Load_balancer_Hostname

      

     

      

    2.   Restart the server.
