    COMPONENT:

    BMC Service Level Management

    APPLIES TO:

    9.x

    PROBLEM:

Cannot establish a network connection to the AR System Plug-In server : ARServer: Plugin Port (ARERR 8760)

    CAUSE:

    Plugin-Port conflict

    SOLUTION:

If ar plugin log indicates plugins were loaded successful and SLM application ( when you create Service Targets ) still trows error "Cannot establish a network connection to the AR System Plug-In server : ARServer:PluginPort (ARERR 8760)". Most likely the reason is " Plugin-port: value defined in ar.cfg is conflicting"

    As of now only

    1) Change "Plugin-Port defined in ar.cfg file (Example: 2869. You can give any port available between the ranges of 1024 to 65536.) . To verify if this port is available, run below command
    netstat -aon | findstr "2869"
if result contains nothing, it indicates port is available for use.
Change Plugin-Port ,as below, in ar.cfg
    Plugin-Port: 2869

2)Add below lines in ar.cfg if not there already. If lines already exists, only update port no# at end
    Server-Plugin-Alias: REMEDY.ARF.OMFOBJIE REMEDY.ARF.OMFOBJIE <ServerName>:2869
    Server-Plugin-Alias: REMEDY.ARF.SLASETUP REMEDY.ARF.SLASETUP <ServerName>:2869

3)Verify if plugin port is updated via centralized configuration (See attached )
AR System Administration Console-> Server Information -> Centralized Configuration

    4)Restart AR Server.
