    PRODUCT:

    MainView Infrastructure

    APPLIES TO:

    MainView Infrastructure

    PROBLEM:

The following messages are encountered by MainView Explorer after applying PUT1502B:
    BBWIC052E MVE TCP/IP server failed with reason=UIMEnviron_Create
BBWIC059E MVE TCP/IP server is ended with error

    SOLUTION:

A number of customers have reported these messages when initialising MainView Explorer after applying maintenance level PUT1502B:
    BBWIC052E MVE TCP/IP server failed with reason=UIMEnviron_Create
BBWIC059E MVE TCP/IP server is ended with error

These error message are related to the changes introduced by PTFs BQY0612 and BPJ1115 (PUT1502B).
Please see this Technical Bulletin: http://documents.bmc.com/supportu/documents/16/28/471628/471628.pdf

Following application of these PTFs it is required to concatenate the BBLINK dataset from the BMC User Interface Middleware (UIM) Started Task to the MainView Explorer Started Task JCL. The following is the explanation provided in the Technical Bulletin:

Ensure that the UIM/USC modules, those prefixed with UIM or USC (FMID ZUSC540/ZUSC550) are available to the MainView Explorer server:

    • If the modules are already in the same data set as the MainView modules (FMID ZBBM610), you do not need to add the data set. The modules will be in the same data set if the BMC SMP/E target libraries are merged into one BMCLINK runtime library and the MainView Explorer server has already accessed this BMCLINK library.
    •
    • If the modules are not in the same data set as the MainView modules (FMID ZBBM610), modify the MainView Explorer server JCL //STEPLIB DD allocation to concatenate the data set in which the UIM/USC modules reside. The modules will be in a different data set if the BMC SMP/E target libraries are copied into the different runtime libraries (BBLINK,XXLINK, or DBLINK).
Member BBMXPJCL in the BBSAMP data set contains sample JCL that can be used as a template for MainView Explorer server changes.

NOTE: PTF BQY0612 was subsequently marked as PE (In Error) as it can cause an abend S106-0C in MainView Explorer in certain circumstances. PTF BQY0901 should also be applied to resolve this issue. For further details, see the Technical Bulletin:
