    PRODUCT:

    Track-It!

    APPLIES TO:

    BMC Track-It!

    PROBLEM:

The following may appear in the Internet Explorer window when initially attempting to add a new work order in Self Service: Numara.TrackIt.Business.COMInterop error '80131500' Could not initialize Component: Could not find configuration information for Component Numara.TrackIt.Core.DataAccess Locator spec = Numara.TrackIt.Core.DataAccess. The Configuration Service may be down or Component configuration file is incorrect. /tiweb80/scripts/Utilities.asp, line 62 After refreshing the page or logging back in again as the same user, this error may then appear in red at the top of the work order form when submitting it from Self Service or Field Technician Web: Could not initialize Component: Could not find configuration information for Component Numara.TrackIt.Business.HelpDesk Locator spec = Numara.TrackIt.Business.HelpDesk. The Configuration Service may be down or Component configuration file is incorrect.

    SOLUTION:

The errors are usually caused by a permissions issue with an IIS folder on the Web server, specifically if the TrackItWeb80 anonymous user had ever been made a member of the local administrators group, and that access was removed at a later time. Instructions:

    1. On the Track-It! 8 Web server, open the following directory: C:\Microsoft Corporation\Internet Information Services
    2.
    3. Delete all folders from this directory and then restart the IIS Admin and World Wide Web Publishing services.
The errors should no longer occur when attempting to add or submit work orders in Self Service.
