"Server Error in '/TrackItWeb/SelfService' Application" error appears while attempting to login to Self Service Web via Windows authentication after installing Track-It! 11.1

    PROBLEM:

    After installing Track-It! 11.1, the following error may appear when users attempt to login to Self Service Web via Windows authentication: Server Error in '/TrackItWeb/SelfService' Application. The resource cannot be found. Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly. Requested URL: /TrackItWeb/SelfService/Reporting/ReportViewer


    SOLUTION:

    To resolve the issue, you may uninstall Track-It! Web and then download and re-install the newest Track-It! 11.1 Web installer from the Support website, or the steps below can be taken to fix the existing installation. Instructions:

       
    1. ||TIA06778.zip|| to download a zip containing a file that will resolve the issue.

    3. Extract the TrackIt.Application.Web.Base.dll to a temporary location on the Web server, such as the Desktop.
    4.  
    5. Stop the IIS Admin services.
    6.  
    7. Open the following directory on the Track-It! Web server (default 32-bit): Track-It! 11.1 upgrades from versions prior to 11: C:\Program Files\Numara Software\Numara Track-It! Web\Self Service\bin Track-It! 11.1 new: C:\Program Files\BMC Software\Track-It! Web\Self Service\bin

    9. Move the existing TrackIt.Application.Web.Base.dll out of the folder to back it up in a separate location.

    11. Copy the new DLL into the above location.

    13. Next, open this directory: Track-It! 11.1 upgrades from versions prior to 11: C:\Program Files\Numara Software\Numara Track-It! Web\Web\bin Track-It! 11.1 new: C:\Program Files\BMC Software\Track-It! Web\Web\bin>
    14.  
    15. Move the existing TrackIt.Application.Web.Base.dll out of the folder to back it up in a separate location.

    17. Copy the new DLL into the above location.

    19. Restart the IIS Admin and World Wide Web Publishing services.
    The error should no longer appear when users login to Self Service via Windows authentication.
