ARS 8.1.x - Remedy Server hangs or crashes when DB failover occurs

    PROBLEM:

    When a database failover occurs and Remedy Server re-establishes connections the server may hang or crash. This typical scenario is it occurs when a failover occurs multiple times. The 3rd failover will encounter the problem.



    A hot fix is available.

    Contact BMC Technical Support to obtain the necessary files to resolve the problem. Note the affected product and this knowledge article ID when contacting Support.


    CAUSE:

    The problem has been documented under the following defects SW00515895 8.1 SP2 SW00515922 8.1 SP1 Description: arserver leaks open-sql statistics entries, leading to bad performance and eventually, server hang.


    SOLUTION:

    A hot fix is available.
