Reseting Smart Reporting Repository database password

    PROBLEM:

    Change the password for Smart Reporting Repository database user. Getting "ARERR [9430] Failed to get token for Remedy Smart Reporting" error when launch the Smart Reporting through Mid-tier application console.


    CAUSE:

    Smart Reporting unable to connect to the Repository database since the password has been changed


    SOLUTION:

    1. Update the password in the Web.xml.  path: C:\Program Files\BMC Software\ARSystem\SmartReporting\appserver\webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF\web.xml

    2.  Password to the configuration database connection is encrypted at
          installation time. If you need to change this password, you can set
          the JDBCPasswordEncrypted parameter to false, and store the password
          in plaintext in the JDBCPassword parameter.
