    PRODUCT:

    MyIT Digital Workplace

    COMPONENT:

    MyIT

    APPLIES TO:

    MyIT 3.3.02, DWP 3.4, 3.5, 18.02

    PROBLEM:

    Problem Summary # DWP: Steps for configuring MyIT/SmartIT with an AR Server Group

    CAUSE:

    Applicable to DWP versions until 18.02

    SOLUTION:

    Step 1:

    Note: This is applicable to a single tenant/multiple cluster environment

    1. Open the Mid-Tier MyIT Administration Menu

    2. Add the AR Server load balancer (or modify the existing value) to the persistant datastore

    .

    3.Change by selecting the drop-down (change for both BMC MyIT and MyIT-ITSM Applications)

    Step 2:

    4. Stop Tomcat and update the connect.properties file in <<install_dir>>\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat7.0\external-conf\ by updating the following entries to point to the AR Load balancer:

    connect.arsystem.hostName =  arloadbalancer
    port = 0
    connect.arsystem.password = <encrypted password>

    Note: Step 2 Applies to MyIT 3.2 and Previous Versions.

    Step 3.

    Update the  SmartIT_System.PROVIDER_SETTINGS directly using a GUI like SQL Server Management Studio or by running the below SQL queries:

    Select * from SmartIT.SmartIT_System.PROVIDER_SETTINGS where KEYNAME ='host.name' and VALUE = <<Primary AR server name>>

    update SmartIT.SmartIT_System.PROVIDER_SETTINGS SET VALUE = <<AR LB Name>> where KEYNAME ='host.name' and VALUE = <<Primary AR server name>>

    Select * from SmartIT.SmartIT_System.PROVIDER_SETTINGS where KEYNAME ='host.port' and VALUE = <<Primary AR Server Port>>

    update SmartIT.SmartIT_System.PROVIDER_SETTINGS SET VALUE = <<AR LB Port Number>> where KEYNAME ='host.port' and VALUE = <<Primary AR Port>>

    select PK,ID,KEYNAME,VALUE from SmartIT.SmartIT_System.PROVIDER_SETTINGS where KEYNAME = 'group.host.name'

    update SmartIT.SmartIT_System.PROVIDER_SETTINGS SET VALUE = <<AR LB Name>> where KEYNAME = 'group.host.name'

    select PK,ID,KEYNAME,VALUE from SmartIT.SmartIT_System.PROVIDER_SETTINGS where KEYNAME = 'group.host.port'

    update SmartIT.SmartIT_System.PROVIDER_SETTINGS SET VALUE = <<AR LB Port Number>> where KEYNAME = 'group.host.port'

    Step 4:

    Applicable to MyIT 3.2, MYIT 3.3.02, DWP 3.4, DWP 3.5, DWP 18.02, DWP 18.05, DWP 18.08

    Starting with MyIT 3.2 the AR Server connection details have been moved to the configuration_parameter table in the Database so you'll also have to update the values in this new table to reflect the new name, for example:

    Select * from SmartIT_System.CONFIGURATION_PARAMETER where NAME = 'connect.arsystem.hostName" and VALUE = '<Primary AR Server Name>';
    update SmartIT_System.CONFIGURATION_PARAMETER set VALUE = '<NewName>' where NAME = 'connect.arsystem.hostName';
    update SmartIT_System.CONFIGURATION_PARAMETER set VALUE = '<NewPort>' where NAME = 'connect.arsystem.port';

    Note: The HRCM and RKM providers still use the PROVIDER_SETTINGS table so if you're using this provider you will have to complete step 5 for each of them.

     Note: If you are 18.05 version, only execute the step 4 in above listed document
