With Dev Studio encounter 'ARERR 556 Help text or change diary definition is missing' after removing an overlay

    APPLIES TO:

    Version 7.6.04 and later.



    PROBLEM:

    Trying to access form in Dev Studio in Best Practice mode encounters the following error

    ARERR 562 - Help text or change diary definition is missing. : (1 -- 3855 -- 0) (ARERR 562)


    SQL logging enabled and there was a query on the objProp table referencing Overlay schemaid:

    select objProp from arschema where (schemaid = 3885)

    The overlay schemaid does not exist in DB therefore query comes back with blank result.

     


    CAUSE:

    The remedy admin server still had this form in it's server cache (memory).


    SOLUTION:

    Restart remedy server or refresh server cache by executing the arsignal command.

    arsignal -r servername:port#


    You will need to wait for the time elapsed set the by following parameter in the ar.cfg/ar.conf for cache operation to start.
