TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Management: Activation of BTM models fails ("Deploy Process Error")

    PROBLEM:

    An attempt to activate a BTM Model immediately fails with a "Deploy Process Error".

    Message text:
    The deploy process did not complete successfully.
    Please check error logs for more information.

    In qpas-webmc.log error messages like the ones below can be seen:

    (... Level=LM_ERROR) [...] Failed to create host directory C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_92\hostname
    (... Level=LM_ERROR) [...] I/O Exception: Failed to create host directory C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_92\hostname
    (... Level=LM_ERROR) [...] The deploy process did not complete successfully.

     


    CAUSE:

    JRE v1.8.0_92 is flawed. See https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8156822 - "Application started using javaws now starts in {java.home} rather than current directory"


    SOLUTION:

    Uninstall JRE v1.8.0_92 and install a later or an earlier version of the JRE.
