    PRODUCT:

    BladeLogic Server Automation Suite

    APPLIES TO:

    BladeLogic Server Automation 8.x

    PROBLEM:

During a login attempt with the TrueSight Server Automation (TSSA) Console, the following error is reported:

Cannot connect to "service:appsvc.bladelogic:blsess://<appserver>:9841" - Connection failed, could not resolve "<appserver>"

Where "appserver" is the name of the target application server.

    CAUSE:

This error indicates the appserver hostname could not be resolved to the required IP address.

    SOLUTION:

To resolve this problem verify that the noted appserver hostname is able to be resolved to a valid IP address on the system where the BSA Console is running.

Once name resolution is confirm from the host operating system the BSA Console should then be able to also resolve this hostname and proceed with the login process.
