    Why does the MainView for Linux - Servers installation script reference Red Hat Linux and not SuSE Linux?

    Some customers have queried why the MainView for Linux - Servers Installation script references Red Hat Linux when they are running SuSE Linux.

    The Red Hat reference comes from the bgscollect version output and displays the Linux version used to build the bgscollect program. Currently, the bgscollect program is built on Red Hat Linux version 4 as shown in the example below:

      

    bgscollect 7.5.10 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (s390, 32 Bit) 7.5.10.6082 May 20 2011

      

    The CFLCOLLR view which shows Linux data collector information has the same Red Hat reference.

      

    You can use the CFLSYSR view to show the Linux system information.
