    QUESTION:

In an LPAR where we do not have MQ, we want start the BBI-SS PAS without Mainview for Websphere MQ.

    We have:

    • removed the SCSQAUTH and SCSQANLE DD from STEPLIB.
    •
    • removed the PRODUCT=MVMQS parameter from the BBISSP00 member.
    •
    • removed the AAOMQL=40 parameter from the CFGBB40A member.
    •

But when we start the PAS, we get this error:

    QA1114E MQSERIES STEPLIB MISSING/INVALID BB40
QA1113E UNABLE TO INITIALIZE AO FOR MQ TASK BB40

What else do I need to do to deactivate MainView for Websphere MQ in a BBI-SS PAS?

You need to know how to deactivate MainView AutoOPERATOR components in a BBI-SS PAS during initialisation.

The messages above are actually issued by AutoOperator for MQ.

The AOOPTION parameter in member AAOPRM00 in your hlq.UBBPARM library determines which AutoOperator components try to initialise in the PAS.

You will need to code something like AOOPTION=(IAO,CAO) in there, depending on which AO components you DO want to start. Just ensure that you do not have AOOPTION=(QAO) coded, and remember that if AOOPTION is not present, the default is to try to start ALL AO components.

For more details, please refer to the MainView AutoOPERATOR Customization Guide. Appendix E has a table of BBPARM dataset members.
