    QUESTION:

    CMF MONITOR 5.9.00
    CMF MONITOR 5.8.00

    I would like to check the number of physical processors assigned to each LPAR in CMF MONITOR.
    Which view or batch report has this data?

    ANSWER:

    Legacy ID:KA414243

    The LPARSTAT view has a Physical Processor Count field "PP Ct".

    Also, Partition Data Section of the CMF MONITOR Analyzer CPU Utilization Report has PHYSICAL PROCESSORS number, see below:

    BASED ON REC TYPE/# RECS/# SAMPLES/REC HOURS: 170-1/1/899/0.25 70-1/1/899/0.25
    ---------------------------------------------------- PARTITION DATA SECTION --
    MVS PARTITION NAME = MVSP NO. OF
    IMAGE CAPACITY = 552 DISPAT
    CAPACITY GROUP NAME = -------- CAPACI
    PHYSICAL PROCESSORS = 13 CAPACI
    CP = 9
    ZAAP = 0
    IFL = 0
    ICF = 2
    ZIIP = 2

    It is the number of physical processors (of the given type) on the machine in both cases.

    If there are dedicated processors assigned to LPARs, then obviously, the number of physical processors available to back the logical processors is reduced, but in both cases, the number of Physical Processors is the number on the CEC, it is not reduced by the number of dedicated processors.
