If you are trying to provide someone else an URL External View Launch to open a specific view in Management Console this KA might help for the most common issues when the view is not opening as expected.

    ANSWER:

    Legacy ID:KA409568

The External Launch View feature could be used to for quick access to specific views in the Management Console, when opened an URL generated this view in question should open directly.

    - The URL should looks like this:
    http://<host[:port]>/launch/view?<parameters>

host should be replaced to the BMTM Server hostname, the port is the port of the Browser service which is Port 15007 per default.

    - Opening the first tab of network host:
    http://myhost:15007/launch/view?user=myuser&type=ComMQSoftwareNetworkHost&inst=myhost

Replace myhost with the hostname of the BTMT server, replace myuser with a valid Management Console user and replace myhost with the network host from which you want to open the view.

    - Opening Dashboards created for logical instances

    http://myhost:15007/launch/view?user=myuser&type=mytypeHost&inst=myinstance

Replace myhost with the hostname of the BTMT server, replace myuser with a valid Management Console user, replace mytype with the name of the logical type, replace myinstance with the name of the logical instance.
If you want to open a specific tab you can add &tab=mytab to open a tab called mytab

    http://myhost:15007/launch/view?user=myuser&type=mytypeHost&inst=myinstance&mytab

    - Open the URL does open a second Management Console

Your browser shows the following message:
No Management Console is currently running, redirecting to launch one
A second Management Console is opening, but does not open the correct view. In the URL examples above you see the myuser parameter, if this user does not match the current user which is logged in a second Management Console is started and does not launch the default view. To avoid this issue, it is recommended to set myuser to the same user which is running the Management Console. It is suggested to close the Management Console and Browser if you are at this point.

    - The view I defined is not open

Could be that a second Management Console is started, please check to point mentioned above.
But it could by as well that you have defined as the user that is defined in the URL (myuser in the example) is not the user user which is used for the login. The Management Console does always offer the last user account login, you may need to adjust this the user defined in the URL:

    - You can already collapse the agent tree, but the view is opening some time later

If you start a new Management Console when you open the URL, the Management Console is displaying the view after it has initialized all tabs. So if a lot of events are used, this tab takes some time longer and the view is opening after all tabs are initialized.
