Borland Silk Performer Synthetic Transaction Monitoring for BMC Software

    QUESTION:

Customer is running TSPS with Silk Performer.  They are using an out of the box URL Checker.

There is no TSIM or AM KM in use and it is not an HA environment.

When they look at the Executions of a location (Application View  | Locations | Executions)  They see the Execution listed like below:

    URLCheck
    TINIT
    URLCheck
    TINIT
    URLCheck
    TINIT

The UrlCheck row has valid data, but the TINIT row is all 0's.  Why are we seeing this TINIT

    ANSWER:

The TINIT is there by design.  It is needed for our customers that use our KM and need to have events closed after each run of the URLChecker.

In your case, since you are not using the KM, we can turn this feature off.  To do this, please follow the below steps:

    1.  Open this file:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\BMC Software\BMCTEAAgent\TEAAgent\WorkingFolder\Conf\agent_configuration.xml

    2.  Locate this line:
    <!--TInit Action 0-Never Send, 1-Send Always, 2-Send On Error-->
      <TInitAction>1</TInitAction>

    3.  Set the value to "2" (send on error)

    4.  Save the file and restart the TEA Agent.

TINIT should then appear once and then disappear and appear again only when there is a script error.
