    QUESTION:

Questions about the Backup and Recovery of Remedyforce Data

    ANSWER:

Disaster Recovery and ease of data recovery is built into the Salesforce platform with near real time replication from Production to the Recovery Data Center. Backups are also done on a regular basis at the data center level with tapes stored off site. Salesforce performs real-time replication to disk at each data center with data transmitted across encrypted links. Disaster recovery tests are performed regularly to verify recovery times and the integrity of customer data.  While Salesforce performs back-ups for disaster recovery purposes, they will perform a data recovery for you but at an added cost.  For those DIY IT professionals, data is just as easy to back-up with cloud applications as is with in-house servers.   Customers can back up their own data at any time using built in tools through the reporting engine or through a data loader utility.  You can create your own back-up process and schedule.  Here is a document that walks through how you can perform your own data back-up: https://communities.bmc.com/docs/DOC-34713
