    QUESTION:

We have Remedy on SQL Server 2012. We are planning to apply TDE on SQL.
Is there any impact of MSSQL TDE on Remedy performance?

    ANSWER:

We don't have documentation or AR System benchmarks specific to TDE with MS SQL. However it appears using encryption incurs in performance penalty as documented in non BMC page here:
    http://sqlmag.com/sql-server/transparent-data-encryption-faqs

"Q: Is there a performance impact for using TDE?
A: Yes, some performance overhead is involved in using TDE. The encryption and decryption process do require additional CPU cycles. The overhead for using TDE ranges from about 3 percent to 30 percent, depending on the type of workload.
SQL Server instances with low I/O and low CPU usage will have the least performance impact. Servers with high CPU usage will have the most performance impact."

It may be best to enable TDE in non production environment first. You can use API , SQL logging along with log analyer to find top slowest SQL before and after enabling TDE.
    https://communities.bmc.com/docs/DOC-25473
Using log analyzer will let you measure exact impact of enabling TDE in your environment.
