    QUESTION:

When attempting to receive maintenance via Internet Service Retrieval, some customers have reporting encountering an "Empty Data Set" message on the "Submit SMP/E Jobs " with a BMRM000Z message being displayed, for example:
BMRM000Z SYS1.BMC.B1CD7054.BDB5AF06.JCL has no jobs to submit. You must first generate SMP/E jobs for this Request ID

    ANSWER:

When attempting to receive maintenance via Internet Service Retrieval, some customers have reporting encountering an "Empty Data Set" message on the "Submit SMP/E Jobs " with a BMRM000Z message being displayed, for example:
BMRM000Z SYS1.BMC.B1CD7054.BDB5AF06.JCL has no jobs to submit. You must first generate SMP/E jobs for this Request ID

In this panel, the user should enter the ISR request ID and the HLQ of the existing JCL data set containing the SMP/E jobs that they wish to submit. In the event of receiving the BMRM000Z message, the user should return to the main "BMC Internet Service Retrieval (ISR)" Menu and select the "Retrieve a requested service package" option.

After specifying the request ID and logon information press Enter. The user is then presented with two options:

    1) Retrieve Service Package
    2) Generate and submit SMP/E jobs for this Service Package

When users have reported the BMRM000Z message previously, they had attempted the "Generate and submit SMP/E jobs for this Service Package" option before retrieving the maintenance service package.
A message in the upper right corner of the dialog states that the JCL library is empty. Selecting the option to "Retrieve Service Package" first should resolve the problem. If problems remain, please raise an issue with BMC Software Support.
