    How to clean old activity logs from BMC Cloud End User Web Portal?


    ANSWER:

    Follow this documentation here for the detail on using the Activity Log in BMC Cloud End User Web Portal.

    To delete older entries of Activity Logs in BMC Cloud End User Portal, follow these steps:
    1). Use REST Client Tool to authenticate and get authentication-token from Platform Manager server. Follow this documentation to get your authentication-token from Platform Manager server.

    2). Execute CLM REST API POST /csm/activityview/prune with the authentication-token header that you generate from step #1 with the following sample JSON body:

                "value": 1546300800000 => specify this value in java milliseconds format

    }

    You need to define the value above with date value in java milliseconds format (e.g.: 1546300800000 ) that you choose as a reference point. In this example, any entries that are created older than 01/01/2019 will be deleted once CLM REST API is executed.

    NOTE: Even though REST Client tool might potentially gets timed out after running for 1 minute, this activity clean-up operation is still being executed behind the scene. You can verify your %Platform_Manager%/logs/csm.log or BMC.CLOUD:BMC_ActivityLog Form to validate if older entries are still being deleted.
