systemd unit file for arsystem

Version 2

    This is a simple unit file that can be used on systemd based Linux OS (like RHEL family v7+).

    As root, create an arsystem.service file under /etc/systemd/system with the following content :

    [Unit]
    Description=AR System startup script
    After=network.target
    Requires=oracle.service rpcbind.service

    [Service]
    Type=forking
    User=arsystem

    ExecStart=/opt/bmc/ARSystem/bin/arsystem start

    ExecStop=/opt/bmc/ARSystem/bin/arsystem stop

    [Install]
    WantedBy=multi-user.target

    Obviously, only add oracle.service if Oracle is installed on the same box.

    It is important though that you set the rpcbind service as required by ARSystem.

    Set "User" to the username that you usually start ARSystem with. If root, ... No, of course, you don't start ARSystem as root.

    Save the file and execute :

    systemctl enable arsystem.service
    systemctl start arsystem.service

    HTH
