Azure Provider is a Microsoft Azure integration with BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management, which leverages the cloud computing services of Microsoft Azure from the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management Administration Console.

This integration enables the following Cloud Services (IaaS & PaaS Services) from Microsoft Azure Cloud:

    • Provides a platform for development and testing to the enterprise customers, enabling them to use their own MSDN server software licenses and bits to create Virtual Machines (VM) tailored to their specific needs.
    • Extends existing environment and leverage investment in Microsoft while deploying in public cloud
    • Provision VMs from an image gallery of pre-populated templates available from Microsoft Azure
    • Provision VMs from custom-built virtual hard disk (VHD) images and custom images created using the Capture command
    • Specify Availability Sets at the time of VM creation to associate them to same Availability Set for better fault tolerance
    • Attach or detach and use data disks for storage (each disk can be up to 1 TB in size)

It also supports the following remote actions and networking features:

    • Log in remotely via Remote Desktop Procedure (RDP), PowerShell, Secure Socket Shell (SSH), or Terminal Server, to customize VMs
    • Start, Stop, or Shutdown VMs
    • Modify the CPU count and memory size of the provisioned VMs
    • Add a server to an existing service
    • Install software on provisioned VMs (both pre- and post-provisioning) using the BMC Server Automation
    • Add local OS users on an Azure VM
    • Onboard an Azure network with subnets
    • Place VMs in specific networks or subnets
    • Open or close VM endpoints using network paths
    • Add or remove servers to load balancer pool

Note: For details about troubleshooting, refer to Azure Provider Issues.

BMC provides Azure Provider 1.0.00 integration with BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management 4.0, and Azure Provider 1.1.00 integration with BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management 4.1. Based on your Cloud Lifecycle Management environment you can download either of the installer files listed below:

    Azure Provider on CLM 4.6

DO NOT install the provider zipkits separately to be used with 4.6.00.

The 4.6.03 installer contains the Azure, OpenStack, and SoftLayer providers.

Therefore, if your CLM version is 4.6.00 and you want to use third-party providers, BMC recommends that you install 4.6.03.
