How To: Change the text labels for Self Service 2.0 (Advanced)

    This solution applies to Remedyforce (RF) Self Service 2.0

     

    This solution will explain how to change the text labels for Self Service 2.0

     

    Changing Labels:


    1. Download the file Custom_Labels_Self_Service_2.stf from this document.
    2. Download the file AdministratorsGuide.pdf from this document.
    3. In the Administrators Guide search for section "Custom labels for Self Service 2.0" and copy the Key(s) to change.
    4. Open Custom_Labels_Self_Service_2.stf file in Excel
    5. Add the Key from the Admin Guide (Note: Add the prefix CustomLabel.BMCServiceDesk__ to all Keys)

    6. Add your custom label (In the example below we changed the Tile from 'Submit a Ticket' to 'Submit an Incident')

    7. You may add as many Keys and Labels as you like
    8. Save (Tab Delimited)
    9. If the file type changes to a .txt file, simply change the file to a .stf after save.

     

    Import:


    1. Login to Remedyforce as an Administrator
    2. Setup > Administration Setup > Translation Workbench > Import
    3. Skip to Step 3
    4. Select "Browse" find your .stf file
    5. Select Import
    6. You will receive an email when the import has completed.
    7. The change may take several minutes before it is seen in the system.

     

     

    Advanced Options


    Export:


    1. Login to Remedyforce as an Administrator
    2. Setup > Administration Setup > Translation Workbench > Export
    3. Select 'Source'
    4. You will receive an email when Source file is ready for downloading.
    5. Open your .STF file in Excel
    6. Find the Key
    7. Change the Label
    8. You may remove all other rows (Not Columns). Also, please leave the information with # in front at the top in place.
    9. Save (Tab Delimited)
    10. If the file type changes to a .txt file, simply change the file to a .stf after save.

     

    Import:


    1. Login to Remedyforce as an Administrator
    2. Setup > Administration Setup > Translation Workbench > Import
    3. Skip to Step 3
    4. Select "Browse" find your .stf file
    5. Select Import
    6. You will receive an email when the import has completed.
