CMF MONITOR - all supported versions
We have activated the IPM component in CMF MONITOR and we are seeing the following messages in the MVSPAS log, regarding the CACHE parameter that has been enabled:
CMFCAC75E IDCSS01 COUNTS CALL FAILED FOR ALL SUBSYSTEMS: RC=0038
What could be a cause of this, and how to fix it?
Short answer: Please try running the MVSPAS with REGION=0M
The help for message CMFCAC75E directs you to review the return codes from the IDCSS01 API:
TEXT IDCSS01 xxxxxx call failed for all subsystems: RC=yy. CACHE xPM
REASON A call to IDCSS01 to request performance data or sense status
data failed in a CPM or IPM (xPM in the message) cache sampler.
The return code (RC=yy) describes the nature of the error.
This IDCSS01 call was intended to obtain information for all

SYSTEM If the IDCSS01 call is for COUNTS data, no SMF records for this

model. If the IDCSS01 call is for STATUS data, the SMF record
for this interval is not produced for the particular subsystem
encountering this error.

So please try increasing the storage available to the MVS PAS, by increasing REGION=, ideally to REGION=0M
