Digital workplace 1805 when the user login in digital workplace the first name and last name is not populate in DWP profile due to which on behalf of is not working

    PROBLEM:

    Use case : When the user login in digital workplace the first name and last name is not populate in digital workplace profile due to which on behalf of is not working.

    DWP logs shows below error:

    com.independentsoft.exchange.ServiceException: System.Net.WebException: The request was aborted: The request was canceled.^M
    t Microsoft.Exchange.InfoWorker.Common.Availability.AsyncWebRequest.EndInvokeWithErrorHandling():<No response>. The request information is ProxyWebRequest type = CrossSite, url = https://test.bmc.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx
    Mailbox list = <testuser@bmc.mail.onmicrosoft.com>SMTP:test@bmc.mail.onmicrosoft.com, Parameters: windowStart = 7/14/2020 2:13:47 PM, windowEnd = 7/15/2020 2:13:47 PM, MergedFBInterval = 30, RequestedView = DetailedMerged

    However, if you go to CTM:People form, search for the user, remove the Internet Email ID, save and re-login in Digital workplace the first name and last name is populated in Digital workplace profile due to which on behalf of works as expected


    CAUSE:

    Exchange server


    SOLUTION:

    -Login to Digital workplace admin console
    -Go to Configuration
    -Disable/Uncheck the Exchange pluggable provider
    -Re-load the provider which resolved this issue.

    However, if you want to use the Exchange email server in Digital workplace then please use below troubleshooting steps

    Provide following error to the Exchange server team, and get their recommendation as in what needs to be update MS Exchange server end.

    If this was working before, please check if anything was updated from Exchange side.

    One of the way to troubleshoot this would be as below:
    1. Open a browser and put in the URL https://mail1.bmc.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx
    2. This will prompt user to enter the user credentials. Enter the user credentials that is used by Digital workplace exchange provider
    3. If that shows a page without errors, all is good and you can enable the Exchange provider
    4. If you see error, show the error the exchange team and get their help to resolve it.
