Fresh install Digital workplace 20.02 patch 1 with an external tomcat 8.5.56 fails

    PROBLEM:

    Use Case : When used external tomcat version 8.5 and performing the DWP fresh install (version 19.x, 20.02, 20.02 patch1). The installation fails with below error:

      Throwable=[java.lang.NullPointerException

    Though installation fails, User is able to login to DWP app and Admin console and do normal operations.

     


    CAUSE:

    Defect but with no functional impact


    SOLUTION:

    There is no functional impact of this error. The installer did not copied error.html  files to the tomcat.
    Defect was created for this use case and will be fixed in 20.02.02.
