    QUESTION:

What actions need to be taken to implement a change to MAXENTRY in the CTMPLEX member of IOA.PARM?

    ANSWER:

Customers that have made a change to the MAXENTRY parameter in the CTMPLEX member of the IOA...PARM library have two options to make the change effective:

    1. Issue the STOPPLEX and STARTPLEX modify commands to the global monitor:
When the STOPPLEX command is issued, all of the Local Monitors will stop, the CF structure is deleted and the Global Monitor continues working as normal.
When the STARTPLEX command is issued, the Control-M Monitor (which was in stand-alone mode) becomes the Global Monitor again, the new CF structure is created (with the new MAXENTRY size) and the Local Monitors may be started again.
Please note that Control-M functionality is not interrupted during this process.

    2. Recycle all of the Control-M Monitors (local and global)
After the last monitor is brought down, the CF structure is deleted (as no Monitor is connected to it anymore). When the first Monitor starts, this monitor starts working as the Global Monitor and the new CF structure (with new MAXENTRY size) is created. Then the other Monitors may be started and they'll connect to CF structure just created.
