    CHANGE MANAGER for DB2

    QUESTION:

Using CHANGE MANAGER for DB2 Compare, is it possible to compare Declare Global Temporary Table DDL between two different Db2 locations?

    ANSWER:

In IBM DB2 documentation, it describes Create Global Temporary Tables (CGTT) where the table definition is put in the
DB2 catalog. Since the table is not persistent, there are rules and limitations of course.

Later with DB2 V7, Declare Global Temporary Tables (DGTT) came along. These table definitions do not get put
into the DB2 catalog but do not have as many limitations as CGTTs.

Since our CHANGE MANAGER documentation only refers to Global Temporary Tables (GTT) in general, we verified the product
supports CGTTs and not DGTTs. The product needs DDL (whether referenced via file (DDL/worklist), baseline, or DB2 catalog)
that could be created in DB2, not DML coded in an application instance.

The answer is NO. You cannot compare DGTTs using Compare, only CGTTs.
