    ANSWER:

     

    How to reduce the elapsed time of the image copy
    By default, NGT reorg single streams the image copies onto a single tape drive. If there are multiple partitions being reorganised this can take up a considerable proportion of the elapsed time of the whole reorg. Whilst this doesn’t impact the database objects because the actual reorg process has finished, it can still be beneficial to reduce this elapsed time. To allow parallel process of the image copies add the parameter DDNCOUNT to the end of the OUTPUT statement. For example: 

      OUTPUT OUT1 DSNAME hlqS.&DB..&TS..F&PART5                    
             DISP (NEW,CATLG,CATLG)                                       
             UNIT CART
        DDNCOUNT 4         

    Will allow 4 image copies to be written in parallel
