    QUESTION:

Patrol Agent is unable to connect to PCO. RTserver error logs shows below messages:

Maximum number of client connections exceeded. Rejecting client </cos/svcs/PATROL_AGENT_XXXXX>.
Client connection result: Maximum number of client connections exceeded.

    ANSWER:

This message indicates the RTserver has exceeded the maximum number of PATROL client connection.  Once the maximum PATROL client connection is reached, it will no longer accept anymore client connection.

To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:

Step 1) Open rtserver.cm file located under %BMC_ROOT%common\smartsockets\standard and set maximum connection = 750

    setopt max_client_conns    750

Save the rtserver.cm file and restart the RTserver service.

Step 2) Determine how many PATROL Agents are in the environment and determine which RTservers these PATROL Agents are configured to connect to.  Then balance the number of PATROL Agents between the RTservers.

Review the PATROL Central Infrastructure Best Practices Guide for more information about recommendations on RTserver cloud setup.
