    QUESTION:

    TrueSight Vulnerability Management - How to enable debug on ElasticSearch
    To investigate ElasticSearch issues we might have to enable debug log level in ES

    ANSWER:

    Follow the below steps:
    1. Stop ES

      cd <truesight-sm>
    python truesight-sm.py stop --deployment elasticsearch
    2. Backup and edit the log4j2.properties
      cd <ES_INSTALL_HOME>/elasticsearch/infra-ext/es/DCAIndexService/config
    cp log4j2.properties log4j2.properties_orig
    Edit log4j2.properties
    Updated rootLogger.level value from info to debug:

      rootLogger.level = debug
    3. Start ES
      cd <truesight-sm>
    python truesight-sm.py start --deployment elasticsearch

    If you have ElasticSearch in cluster then you have to enable debug on all the ES nodes across the cluster.
