Remedy Smart Reporting 20.02 Installation Fails With Error "Problem configuring reporting server"

    PROBLEM:

    Installation of Remedy Smart Reporting 20.02 fails with below error in non- internet environment.

    (Apr 07 2020 06:52:22.757 PM +0300),SEVERE,com.bmc.install.product.arsuitekit.platforms.arsystemservers.reporting.task.ReportingInstallTask,
      THROWABLE EVENT {Description=[Problem configuring reporting server],Detail=[java.sun.com]},
      Throwable=[java.net.UnknownHostException: java.sun.com
      java.net.AbstractPlainSocketImpl.connect(AbstractPlainSocketImpl.java:184)
     


    CAUSE:

    The issue is because of web xml file where installer is trying to download some dependencies from internet.


    SOLUTION:

    This behavior has been identified as a Defect and can tracked using ID#SW00566620. Hotfix is available and please contact BMC Support for more details.

    Note: Hotfix is a full build installer and user needs to install the application using HF installer.

    Steps to apply fix:

    1)Uninstall existing failed Smart Reporting
    2)Drop the database and user
    3)Uninstall Tomcat used for Smart Reporting
    4)Install Apache Tomcat and proceed with Smart Reporting installation using new build

    Note :It is recommended to use blank db schema for Smart Reporting installation.
