    PRODUCT:

    TrueSight Server Automation

    COMPONENT:

    TrueSight Server Automation

    PROBLEM:

While running a Patching Job against a RedHat 8 target I receive the error:

Error 04/07/2020 13:48:01 STDERR: //var/tmp/stage/LinuxCatalog_2001321_192.168.171.120/linux_analyze: error while loading shared libraries: libnsl.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directoryError 04/07/2020 13:48:01 STDERR: //var/tmp/stage/LinuxCatalog_2001321_192.168.171.120/linux_analyze: error while loading shared libraries: libnsl.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

    CAUSE:

The libnsl.x86_64 rpm is not installed

    SOLUTION:

This error is caused when the system does not have the libnsl.x86_64 rpm installed.  In earlier versions of RedHat the libnsl.so.1 file was part of the glibc rpm.  In RedHat 8, the file was moved into its own rpm.

Install the libnsl.x86_64 rpm to resolve the error.

The product documentation has been updated to reflect this requirement.
