Client Management: How to properly clean the custom inventory in case of corruption

    PROBLEM:

    The custom inventory is not updating on some devices. When I look in ../data/custominventory of the devices there is a custominventorywork.xml .


    CAUSE:

    It could have been corrupted by an operational rule.


    SOLUTION:

    The fact that this file is there means that the module was not able to finish and send the custom inventory to its parent.

    To work around this:
    - Import the attached operational rule export
    - Execute it on a device that has the issue
    - Check all files but CustomInventory.xml has disappeared from the folder ../data/custominventory on the target
    - Run an operational rule that updates the custom inventory and check it is updated properly now
