    IMAGE COPY PLUS V/5.1.00

    PROBLEM:

Following a migration (Fallback) from Managed ACB to IMS Catalog only the post Image Copy job w/PCP reported errors and the Image Copy job failed U4095.  The ABEND U4095 is due to a mismatch in the record count between what the catalog record count is supposed to be and the internal counts that PCP has totaled at that point. I print dump of the block last read shows a record of zeros signaling end of file was read prematurely according to the catalog count.

         .  .

    SOLUTION:

We concluded a premature end of file had been encountered and the databases was incomplete. There were no viable image copies recorded in the RECONS that could offer a clean starting point and so the decision was made to REORG the HALDB (IMS Catalog).
Customer ran an online reorg of the HALDB and then Image Copy with Pointer Checker and that ran clean. The record counts after REORG is greater than before which indicates additional activity has taken place.
