BSA/TSSA : Windows Patch Catalog Update failing post January 7 2020

    PROBLEM:

    Starting January 7th 2020, the following error has been observed in the job run logs of TSSA Windows Patch Catalog Update jobs:

    TSSA 8.9.03 (All Versions) and TSSA 8.9.04 (All Versions)

    "Error 01/17/2020 12:07:05 Validation Error :- BLPAT1004 - Http Url is not accessible.
    Possible remediation steps :- Please check the proxy login credentials
    Please check the vendor url
    Please check network access to vendor url

    BSA 8.9.02 and Lower

    Error    01/17/2020 10:06:11   Validation Error :- BLPAT1004 - Http Url is not accessible.
    Possible remediation steps :- Please check the proxy login credentials
    Please check the vendor url
    Please check network access to vendor url

    CAUSE:

    TSSA Patch Global Configuration is referencing old Shavlik 9.1 SDK URLs which are no longer valid


    SOLUTION:

    The URL seen in the error message is an old Ivanti URL which was decommissioned on January 7th 2020.

    Follow these steps to resolve the issue:


    1) TSSA 8.9.03 (All Versions) and TSSA 8.9.04 (All Versions)
     

       
    1. Login to TSSA console and click on Configuration > Patch Global Configuration.

    1. Click on Shavlik URL Configuration.

    1. Edit the partner.manifest.xml URL. (Old URL is seen here)

    1. Replace the old URL with the new URL ( https://content.ivanti.com/data/oem/BMC-Bladelogic/data/93/manifest/partner.manifest.xml) and hit Ok.

    1. Hit Apply and OK to save the changes.

    2) For Offline Downloader (8.9.03 and later versions) :

       
       
    1. Login to the server from which the  Offline downloader is executed.
    2.  
    3. Go to the location where the offline downloader is extracted and cd to the resources folder.
    4.  
    5. Backup of existing patch-psu.properties file and make the following changes :
      
     From
    #Windows Shavlik manifest URL
    windows.shavlik.manifest_url = https://content.ivanti.com/data/partner/manifest/partner.manifest.xml

     To
    #Windows Shavlik manifest URL
    windows.shavlik.manifest_url = https://content.ivanti.com/data/oem/BMC-Bladelogic/data/93/manifest/partner.manifest.xml
       
       
    1. Re-run the Offline downloader.
      


    3) BSA 8.9.02 and Lower

    The support for Windows Patching in BSA 8.9.02 and lower versions has ended post January 10th 2020.

    To continue using Windows patching, please upgrade to TSSA 8.9.03 or a later version.
