What is the difference between the RMF Summary Report and the CMF Summary Report? We noticed in some fields of the CMF Summary Report there is data, while the equivalent RMF Summary Report the same fields do not have any data, zero value. For example, the RMF Summary Report shows the DASD RATE field has zeroes while the CMF Summary Report shows data on the DASD RATE field.
The difference in the CMF MONITOR Report is due to the difference in SMF records in the respective files. The CMF analyzer displays the record types it uses to create its reports. When the input is CMF SMF records the report shows:
BASED ON REC TYPE/# RECS/# SAMPLES/REC HOURS: 240-0/96/96/24 240-1/96/42.7K/24 240-2/96/42.7K/24 240-3/96/1,438/24
240-5/2,688/42.5K/24 240-9/96/42.7K/24 70-1/96/42.7K/24 71-1/96/1,438/24 72-3/5,472/0/24 73-1/96/0/24 74-1/2,688/42.5K/24
74-2/96/2,867/24 74-4/288/2,867/24 74-5/3,072/96/24 75-1/1,632/42.7K/24 77-1/96/0/24 78-2/96/14.2K/24 78-3/96/5,752/24
However, when running against RMF SMF files the report shows:
BASED ON REC TYPE/# RECS/# SAMPLES/REC HOURS: 70-1/96/86.3K/24
CMF MONITOR can only format the fields for which it has the record types for.
